President Barack Obama might have a league of celebrities supporting his cause, but it doesn't mean he's on the good side of every Hollywood icon out there. The President has quite a reputation for speaking his mind about figures in the spotlight. Once again, his attention turns to Kanye West.
In 2009, Obama called Kanye a ""jackass,"" reacting specifically to the music artist's infamous behavior during Taylor Swift's (attempted) award acceptance at the MTV Video Music Awards. Now, during an interview with The Atlantic, Obama reiterates his sentiment. This time, however, he shows a greater appreciation for Kanye as a musician and businessman.
When asked about his preference between artists Kanye and Jay-Z, the president didn't hesitate to choose Hova. Nevertheless, he went on to express a fondness for Kanye: ""I like Kanye. He's a Chicago guy. Smart. He's very talented.""
After being probed about his 2009 remarks, Obama unapologetically summed up his opinion on Kanye: ""He is a jackass, but he's talented.""
Kanye can take this a few different ways, but there is no question about where his rumored girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, stands in the eyes of the president. It kind of makes you wonder which way this couple is going to vote in the fall...
